Its a new year and I was out for a test run on my new snowboard boots that Santa had delivered. We had some big snow that brought the coverage and the avalanche danger to dangerous levels on the north side of the compass. I was staying where the sun shined because the temps were arctic, and the snow was so good!
As I climbed I notices a North Facing aspect that had ripped out about 1,000 feet wide, and ran all the way to the flats. That would have been an unsurvivable avalanche. I topped out my line and enjoyed some delicious powder on the way back to the Jeep. New boots were great, the snow was all time, and it was a beautiful day in the Albion Basin.
